Description

There are many very personable trees that grow where I live, and this one growing along the Allegheny river nearby catches my attention every time I see it. This painting was really just an excuse to explore those roots and textures visually! The Common Merganser is there because we see them nearly every time we walk along this stretch of the river.

This is truly one of my favorite art pieces, I remember seeing it years ago and keep coming back to view it. I live in eastern NY by the Mohawk River and this painting always makes me think of spring days walking along the canal/river trails, it's one of my favorite things to do. The lighting and general atmosphere here perfectly captures that serene mood. You're definitely one of my top favorite artists, I always love seeing your work and the emotion it captures!
