One wonders if they realize how few they are? That they are on the razor's edge and could be gone in one heartbeat to the next... No, I don't imagine that they understand the concept of extinction, but I think the remaining few understand the concept of being alone.
The Amur Leopard is critically endangered. It is one of the rarest felines in the world with an estimated 27 to 32 individuals remaining in the wild at this time.

This piece will be traveling with me to the FC 2009 art show where it will be up for auction. I hope to donate a percentage of the proceeds to [link]
If the thought of these cats going extinct has you upset, you can do something about it! It can be large, or small. It doesn't have to cost you a dime. Something as small as spreading the word that these cats need help will make a difference. If you have some spare change, you can donate it. If you are an artist with some spare time, draw an Amur Leopard.. Art reaches more people than words do! The more people that know about their plight, the more likely people will help save them. It doesn't have to be anything big or expensive.
Well done.
poor amur leopards... ;(
