This is a Labradorite carefully hand wrapped in Argentium sterling silver. What a pretty stone this is! It reminds me of the lovely reflective metallic blue wings of Morpho Butterflies, hence the name.

Labradorite is an amazing stone that can appear dark at first, until you move it and the stone comes alive with colors flashing within. The effect is similar in appearance to opal fire. It is called chatoyancy, which is a fancy way of saying that the color 'flashes' or 'rolls' across the stone, like cat's-eye but far more vibrantly. It is a natural stone, and the effect is caused by refractive layers within the stone. It cannot be simulated or dyed to look that way!

I hand wrap these pieces with nothing more than my fingers and a tiny pair of pliers. I purchase the stones already polished from rock and gem shows.

Thanks for looking. :)

Such intricate design. This is my favorite, it's a shame it is purchased, for I'd of liked to get it for myself. I joined your website's google page for notifications. I will most definitely be buying one.

98% of dA put things in their signature. If you're one of the 2% that doesn't, then put this- Oh, wait...

Your intricate work with the wire sets off the stone beautifully! The overall effect is very classy and elegant.

I am so in love with all of these!
I love your technique, the stones and the "wrapping". I would kill for one of these! No money, but one day, I WILL have one…

I really wish I had the kind of disposable (or any) income that would allow me to buy your shiny things >:
