I think what I like best about the design of this little fella is the suggestion of the diminutive size (if only because he'd have to at least be of reasonably small proportions to land on whatever size branch that might be). When one usually thinks of gryphons, one usually thinks of a rather large, intimidating beastie, so this cute critter's a refreshing change in the genre. As always, lovely detailing, especially on the wing/feather anatomy and the beak/facial region. The warm lighting and the leaves are beautiful touches in helping neutralize the otherwise cool composition. Very awesome. ^^
