My second attempt to learn to use 300lb rough watercolor paper. It's a very 'thirsty' paper, that's for sure!
This has a bit of a story... when rinsing my brush out I had to stand up to do something (I forget what.. probably deal with my crazy parrots) and the brush must have 'flicked' and there was still a bit of watered down blue on there. It sprayed everywhere... my paper, my keyboard, my computer screen, my corn chips... and by the time I noticed it, it was already set into my paper. "AURRRGGGHH!," I yelled and tried to scrub it up, which works on my other paper... but this 300lb decided it was hungry and not letting go.
So that's why the background is such a disaster. I finally sat down in defeat and sighed. That's watercolor for you. We'll pretend it's a happy mistake.
Please understand- I'm not complaining. I thought perhaps someone might be amused by my goof.
Canada Goose study.
This isn't meant to be a serious painting as it's mostly about me exploring and learning about the medium and this new paper.
