Its a very interesting take on an eastern dragon. I've never seen one thats orange before, or that has wings that small. does it fly without its wings? or does it just use its wings in combination with its tail to steer? it would be very unusual if it were flightless, but your already bending the mythology. I like it a lot. You're very good with watercolors.
For some reason it's really reassuring to hear you say that you don't know what you're doing, and yet you ended up with such a lovely painting! It gives hope to the rest of us who don't know what we're doing X)
Well, no (though there seems to be some blank spots at the bottom of the page), but don't worry about it cause it has nothing to do with the picture itself. I'm color blind, so I always have issues with things like this
This looks wonderful! I especially love the wings. Most of the eastern dragons I see are not depicted with wings. My family says that it's because they ride on clouds (I'm Chinese) but seeings wings on an Eastern Dragon is a nice transition from tradition.
There are actually different types of Eastern Dragons, just to name a few, Wan Long 蜿龙, Jiao Long 蛟龙, Yi Long 翼龙 etc. these types of dragon all have different features, like the jiao long has no wings, but the yi long does. and if i'm not mistaken, wan long has got no feet and wings, so it looks exactly like a serpent.
BTW, the pic is good as it is! kudos! i love anything dragons, be it eastern or western ^_^
