Evening Weather - Cinnamon Teal by Nambroth Evening Weather - Cinnamon Teal by Nambroth
A pair of cinnamon teal rest in the last glow of evening, while rain falls in the distance.

This was my entry for the Federal Duck Stamp competition, which concluded last weekend. I made it to round two, and scored about the middle of the pack.

I struggled with this piece a little bit, as the only reference photos I had were dark and blurry, and this species does not live around here so I couldn't get more. I had to "make" a lot of this painting up, and I think it shows.

9" x 12" Acrylic.

This is really incredible...The effects of light, the details on the water, on the feathers. Great job, really !

I can see some of the made up parts as I looked up pics of this species, but they are so slight, I wouldn't have noticed them if you didn't put that in the description. Extremely beautiful!! I want your talent so badly!! To paint in acrylic is one of my dreams, and I'm starting in water color. I know they are completely different things, but still, I have to start somewhere.
