I think I say that about pretty much everything you post here, but it's always true! Love the foreground work and the little dragon dude. Where is that forest, I want to visit it.

This must have been a relief to paint after the fantasy painting for the kid's magazine, ha ha. Earthy, natural hues are an ease to the eyes... and gliding through trees is fun!
Wow.. I love your backgrounds, as always! You are one of the few unique people who actually put effort into backgrounds as much as the point of interest itself. A feast to the eyes, it is, there is so much to look at.
I enjoy the soft, neutral green and brown tones you used, it really brings out the forest environment in the painting. And there is this silent, peaceful aura that I always see in your art.. It works especially well in this piece. 8]
Well done! I think I like this enough to fav it. I've always loved the forest.

Just : woah
Your background skills are pure win.
I really liked how you did the perspective, the dragon on the back looks really dynamic like if it is flying for real. Not just a drawing <3
Sometimes it's fun just to do art for the sake of art (and backgrounds be damned), but so often I feel that the backgrounds are what makes the piece- not necessarily the subject. We are so small in the world around us, and it's the world that shapes us and influences who we are and what we do (whether we admit it or not). It's a great disservice to neglect backgrounds all the time.
This piece is every bit about the forest as it is about the dragons... perhaps even moreso in some aspects.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example.
