Forest Resplendence by Nambroth Forest Resplendence by Nambroth
This was a piece painted for the Share One Planet competition, [link]

There were 100 species to choose from and many wonderful bird species. As anyone following my gallery knows, I have an immense passion for painting birds and it was hard for me to select one species to paint a portrait of! I love them all. In the end I chose a male Lady Amherst's Pheasant (Chrysolophus amherstiae) and decided to use the elaborate tail plumes as part of the design.

Digitally painted using Corel Painter: oil pastel and acrylic brush tools. (using traditional methods)

Traditional methods means the same way of painting using Corel Painter, as with real paint like acrylic or oil. :)
