Gorbash by Nambroth Gorbash by Nambroth
An acrylic painting of our Maximillian Pionus, Gorbash.

This is my first use of a non-fluid acrylic so I am very much still learning!

Acrylic paint on illustration board, About 5.5" x 6.5".

Though I cannot make changes to this painting as it's already varnished and done, if anyone has critique I welcome it to learn for next time. :)

Incredible. The lighting, the feathers, the whole angle that the bird can be seen from...it's really good. I would never have guessed you were a first timer at using this media.

I think the only thing that bothers me is the bright green patch on the bottom right, which really is distracting from his face. Love the feathers as always though :D he looks devilish.

this is a very nice job, one question though, could you please tell me what non-fluid acrylic is? I always thought acrylic paint was always fluid?

:iconnambroth:
Nambroth Featured By Owner Nov 15, 2009  Professional General Artist
I probably worded this poorly! I am used to using a type of acrylic specifically labeled as 'fluid acrylics,' such as Golden's Fluid line. They are very runny and come in little bottles.

They type of Acrylics I used here were in tubes, with more body.
