This was a fascinating commission I got; an Irish Elk with six wings. The wings are symbolic and not necessarily functional- I know he couldn't realistically fly. ;)

Irish Elk are an amazing species that are extinct. They were large elk with antlers so mighty that they put moose to shame. These guys were around 6 feet tall.. at the -shoulder-!

Yes, there may be a few anatomy quirks, but as you'll probably note this is a quick painting and left as-is, flaws and all. :)

I've always loved deer...and this picture reminded me of my most favorite book Firebringer about a prophecy among the Scottish Red Deer. I recommend it to you. :D

it's too bad you don't make prints of stuffs like this ^^; but I understand selling someone else's character/concept might have complications :P

I would have loved to see one of those guys. I have a love for deer. And the image just looks gorgeous. The glow effect really adds to the already regal feel of the elk.
