I've long wanted to paint some Red Deer, and when I was asked to do the sponsor print for MFF I was excited to do this painting!

A special thanks to Adrian Scottow, as he gave me kind permission to use his photos for inspiration on the setting.

Wow, this is lovely! I love the contrast between the warm tones of the deer and the cool background. Also the faded effect gives a real sense of distance and peacefulness. :)
