This was done for fun, but there is a story to be found here.

What is going on? Is this gryphon playing tag? Following the crows to a secret meeting place? Perhaps simply hungry and attempting to snatch a feathered meal, or something else entirely?

I leave you to decide. :)

10" x 14" ink and watercolor on watercolor paper.

This piece is for sale! For price and more information, visit here: [link]

this is fantastic!! I love your style -the textures, the lines are exactly where they need to be and the mastering of the watercolours :D

I think that this griffon is following them to possibly find a meal, like how a scavenger follows wolves or bears? Maybe it's just tagging along...

I think I saw you at the NY Audobon art in the woods event last year! I never recognised you, but I've been a fan for years! I think I will be visiting for the routes to art open studio tour, lol, I finally recognised the name on your email address, and I remember looking at this pic longingly when I was there.
Well if I'm lucky, see you this weekend!

Have I done this pose before?

Quite a lot, actually. I mean the general bottom view that displays their legs and those adorable paws. It's rather unusual, most griphon paintings I've seen show them from the side. ;)

Oh! Yes, I see. I like to paint them as if we could actually see them flying overhead. :)
