Artist's Comments

First, I get asked a lot so I thought I'd provide some insight into my nonsense:

I often get very frustrated with drawing, and more often than not get fed up with the process of sketching, inking, erasing, cleaning it up, etc etc...

Sometimes my patience lacks and I just take a sheet of paper and hit it with inks without sketching first. Each stoke is permanant and mistakes can't be fixed.

I've chucked a lot of half-drawn pieces because of this! Patience pays off.

This is one of the ones that didn't get chucked, though it still, to me, has mistakes. For those that insist they don't see the mistakes, you are very kind. :)

Ohhh, I love Kirin! I also love the Japanese beer, but that's another piece entirely! LOL! Really gorgeous details and you captured this great legend perfectly!

Ahhh, I love kirin. ;3; This reminds me of a calendar I was hoping to make as a big collab between the fantasy artists I know. A kirin for each of the months. I don't suppose you would be up for participating in such a project? This reminds/inspires me to pursue it if I can find enough willing artists.

Bah, well anyways- The piece is lovely! Flaws or not, its most elegant and clean c:

Aw man, I haven't heard about Kirins in ages, but I always liked them. Very cool! I like the scales and the background especially.
