This is a Citrine carefully hand wrapped in Argentium sterling silver.

Citrine is a lovely golden type of quartz! This one is called 'oro verde' and this type of citrine is known for its slightly green tint. This is irradiated quartz (And truly, most critrine on the market today is amethyst/quartz that has been heat treated). The stone is not man-made, but helped along to it's final color by man (as are nearly all citrines). This one is very yellow-green, though the exact hue is up to the beholder (my father and I are always arguing over things this color. Is it green? Yellow? You decide).

I hand wrap these pieces with nothing more than my fingers and a tiny pair of pliers. I purchase the stones already polished from rock and gem shows.

Thanks for looking. :)

oro verde...does it mean "green gold"? Correct me if I'm wrong; I don't even know what language this is ^.^;

Beautiful gem and wrap! The necklace it's on really brings out the greenish tint, I think.

This is beautiful :heart: I love how the wires almost spill from the top, and curl around the stone... Lovely flow.

Are these all made with a single piece of wire?! How do you envision that far ahead if it is only a single piece?

No, most contain many wires. Usually at least 6.

How to you attach them? Just twirl them around?

Very carefully binding the stone using the wires.
