Philippine Eagle - 2 of diamonds.
Done as my submission to the animal-based card deck being produced: Bestiary: the shuffling The Philippine Eagle (also known as the monkey-eating eagle) is one of the rarest and most endangered on earth; estimates put their wild populaion at less than 500 individuals (at the time of posting this). They are massive eagles, with a wingspan of over eight feet, and are second in weight only to Harpy Eagles. Philippine Eagle pairs only lay one egg every two years; this combined with poaching, pollution (pesticides) , and habitat loss leaves the future for these birds pretty uncertain. I hope to donate some of the proceeds I earn from my decks (once they go on sale) to the fine people that are trying to save these eagles. Keep an eye out around January-ish if you're interested. Some photo reference used- there is blessed few photos / reference available of these guys! |
