Every day she roused, as the first hints of dawn caressed the sky, fingers of pale bluee creeping across the heavens. She took the specially crafted green glass vessel and hooked it up to a series of carrying cables, the small crystals that adorned it twinkling in the blossoming morning light. Clipping some of the cables to her hindlegs, and taking up a carrying bar in her fore, she watched the sunrise... waiting for the moment just before the sun crested the Earth's sphere. With a cry, she launched herself into the air, powerful wingbeats carrying her out over the ocean's surf. Her cry alerted the gulls, and they followed her in her ritual as they always did, staying respectfully silent. She glided across the water's surface, dipping the chalice into the ocean and filling it with water. Wings cupping the air, she rose once again, just as the sun peeked over the horizion, and lit up her daily tribute and blessing to the ocean.
No comments or faves yet!? Well it certainly needs some!!
I like this version--it has a different spiritual meaning than the previous one with the two hawks. Though, they're both awesome. ^_^ I love your style of painting.
*purr* I like the coloration on the gryphon and the mini story that goes along with it. Very beautifully done, as was the commission piece. The detail was awesome as well- I actually saw that one before I got to this piece. Very nice!

Dreamy and gorgeous. I love the warm feeling from this, your clouds and atmosphere continually astound me.
You can truely feel the wind beneath her wings, and the character in this is just as important as her surroundings. Beautiful!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
