This painting is the full spread dust jacket for the upcoming novel, "The Song of the Summer King" By Jess E. Owen!
This long format includes the actual cover, the spine, the back of the book, and the two flaps that fold inside the covers.
Painted in Corel Painter, mostly Oil Pastel tool. The original is 8,500 pixels wide and it took me approximately eleventy billion hours to paint it all on one layer.
Yes-- this book is about gryphons. A Gryphon is the main character.

It is so incredibly gorgeous...have it on the book cover. My daughter adores the book and begged for book two right away (which she also loves). The artwork is really amazing, so richly detailed it feels like I can smell the forest.
