Three French Hens by Nambroth Three French Hens by Nambroth
Two turtle doves
and a beer

....wait

I got this idea in my head and couldn't get rid of it. This is three Faverolles chickens, a breed originating in France. All three are based on one of my hens, named Coho. She's a salmon Faverolles.
For my chicken brethren, I'm selling shirts: [link]

Simple drawing done in Corel Painter.

LOL I thought they were ameracaunas when the pic was small. I always thought favorelles were very cute but I can never quite trust a chicken with feathery feet.

The funny thing is that some of the feather-footed breeds are some of the friendliest!

Well it seems your love of birds and the twelve days of Christmas have something in common, and six of the days in that song all have bird relations, you only have five to go LoL. Very nice work, even as they are a simple sketch they looks so fluffy, well done. :)

Lovely...and so POOFY with so few lines! I so love bearded chickens. I will definitely be adding more to our flock in the future and favs are on the list! :)

Chickens, turtledoves, and beer. I'm in!

Haha yaaay! Just beware that sometimes favs don't do so well in a mixed flock. Mine just let everyone walk all over them, and it's hard to keep them fed. If I ever get more, it will be in a fav-only pen.

Yeah, I know...so are a few other types I plan to add. We learned that even with our BA, whose is also crazy-mild, but at least has advocates for her in our roo and our head hen. We've been considering a second coop... ;)

They're currently listed as threatened on the national livestock conservancy list (neat association for protecting heritage agricultural animals).

I posted your t-shirt link on the Faverolles Fanciers of Americas Facebook page, and someone has already put your shirt down for a Christmas wish. :) There are many people who love Faverolles and not much merchandise ("swag") we can use to advertise our breed. Hopefully you'll get some more sales!

Oh yes! I follow the faverolles thread on backyardchickens and if I ever have the money and time to dedicate, I'd love to breed them (properly!!) someday too.
I'm really honored you posted the link on the FFA Facebook page!

Having backyard enthusiasts that support the breed is just as important as breeders, because who else is going to enjoy the fruits of our labors? :P

So far there are two people (one wants three) wanting shirts, and my mom as well and myself. Haha! We can wear them to educational events or shows. Do you know if the image could be printed on hooded sweatshirts?
