Thunderous Tides by Nambroth Thunderous Tides by Nambroth
Moa, a Barred Plymouth Rock and also the boss hen of my flock, is tremendous in her girth. At times she is truly large beyond imagination, and is seen here emerging from the ocean. Don't be jealous of her thunderous thighs!

The gulls are in no danger. She is too rotund to give chase.

Corel Painter, acrylic brush.

Have a mighty need for a print? featherdust.storenvy.com/colle…

This is both amazing, hilarious,  and frightening xD
I honestly thought it was photo manipulation from afar given the extremely realistic water (And everything else!) you've managed to paint here. It also looks astonishingly like it was painted with actual acrylics, which is what I thought until I read the description.

This must have taken quite awhile (dem feathers would have killed me), but the work certainly seems to have paid off. :)

Again, as I said in comment on your page, I love your chickens... Moa reminds me of my own Goldie in personality, but Goldie is a Buff Oprington. On the other hand, having lived near the ocean for more than half my life, I can definitely agree with many more that you did extremely well with the waves. The lighting is wonderful, and you color the colors exactly right.

Not only do I love the humor/love for your chickens...but I love your water lighting effects.  And your mastery of Corel Painter.  Initially I could have sworn this was a painting on a physical canvas, that it is a digital painting that mimics the actual media so well is an impressive feather in the cap (pun intended).

Now I want to see someone make a sci-fi/horror film about giant chickens thundering through major cities, scratching at the streets and plucking people up to be brutally eaten as the hens squabble amongst themselves, rending their victims limb to limb.

Very funny portrait, and also wow, those are some lovely waves. You did an amazing job rendering the ocean.

The proper chicken way to pluck up people is to find the most wiggly one, pick up, then march around holding it high and making excited "brrp brrrrp" noises, so that none of the other chickens can steal it from you. But the very act of doing this alerts the other chickens to your prize, and they all chase you, and it becomes a game of chicken football. Many times, in the excitement, the wiggly morsel is lost and escapes!

This would make for the most incredible movie scene. I'm imagining a low, street-level shot of the chicken as it plucks a person from a fleeing crowd in downtown NYC. The camera pans upward to follow the arc of the person as it is lifted aloft in the bill of the hen, which holds the screaming human up high and lets out a series of deep, reverberating "BRRRRRRPS' loud enough to overwhelm the screaming of the fleeing crowds below. A moment of silence. Palpable tension. Suddenly the surrounding skyscrapers shatter as three more hens burst through and a rain of glass and concrete and begin wrestling with the first chicken, beaks snapping at the human and claws scrabbling over the urban wreckage below. Chaos reigns and people run for their lives as the hens slam into skyscrapers and trample cars in their scramble over the tasty morsel.

The most important part is marching with the morsel held VERY HIGH AND PROUD BECAUSE IT IS MINE DO NOT TAKE IT NO IT IS MINE. "Brrrp, brrt, kiurrr, brrrrp"
