I will be taking a hiatus from posting my new work on DeviantArt. For now I will be leaving my artworks here visible, but that may change depending on the future. Unfortunately, my work is regularly being taken from my DA gallery specifically, to be illegally resold as "eNeFTee"s. Sorry to write it this way but ever since I posted this journal, I've gotten a bunch of emails and harassment by bots/people searching for the actual keyword, which is just three letters (in caps). While theft of my art is nothing new and I've been dealing with it in many forms since I started sharing online in 1997, the levels of theft have been staggering lately. eNeFTees and related current forms of crypt0 are anathema to who I am as an artist so this type of theft is particularly hurtful (while I appreciate comments, this specifically is not something I wish to debate or discuss). I hope that this scam passes swiftly, and that I can post art again without fear. If it gets worse, I may need to store my art here, though I hope I don't have to. I still post new art to my Twitter, Tumblr, FA, and my personal website, if you are looking for my new work elsewhere. My username across all these platforms is always "Nambroth", or you can find links in my profile. Thank you for understanding and support all these years. I am thankful for what DA has been in the past and all the support I received here!

It's been a long while since I've updated this information, so I wanted to share it as times and media platforms change (oh boy do they ever!)
Where to find me around the internet, in case you use any of the following:

Website (Featherdust Studio)
Twitter
Tumblr (infrequently updated but I still use it)
Patreon
Ko-Fi

I'm also excited to announce that my work is now represented and available through West End Gallery in Corning, NY! If you are ever in the area, this is a beautiful two story gallery full of exceptional artists. I currently have many original paintings there.

As for what to expect soon: I have a lot of wildlife oil paintings in the works, and as I become more comfortable with the medium, you can expect fantasy creatures to start creeping in again too! :)

I hope you are all well and enjoying the art!

After talking to schools, helping students, and talking with other artists over the last two years, I realized that there is a need for guidance in this subject. More and more, both students and teachers turn to the internet for aid. I created this guide for two main reasons: 1) To give junior artists and duck stamp art newcomers a place to start, and 2) To help explain how to legally and ethically reference photographs (especially if one is unable to get their own, which is the position for most Junior artists).
This is not a perfect piece of literature, and there is no One True Way to make a nice duck stamp artwork– this is truly just meant to give beginners someplace to start.
Please do feel free to share this with anyone that you know that might benefit from it!

Last weekend (Sept. 20th) I watched in awe, humility, and surprise as I won the Federal Duck stamp. The duck stamp is not a postage stamp, but a conservation and hunting stamp, 98% of the sale of which goes directly to buy and protect wetlands. This is a very huge, prestigious event and is the only government-run art contest! I am only the third woman to ever win, and this is only the third time ruddy ducks have been selected.

It is going to lead me on a whirlwind adventure over the nest year, and I invite anyone that is interested in reading about to follow one of my journals (or, 'blogs') as I post about my experiences!

I have a blog on Blogger: duckstampadventure.blogspot.co… This one allows comments.
And one on Tumblr, if you prefer Tumblr: www.tumblr.com/blog/duckstampa…

They are cross-posted so you only need to follow one, whichever is your platform of choice. :)

Thank you all so much for reading!

Oops! I just realized... I forgot to share this!

I created a Patreon account a while ago. I know some folks aren't super fond of the idea, and that's okay. I can understand that; actually talking about it makes me feel nervous as if I am promoting myself too hard. I think this is a thing a lot of artists that are insecure with themselves feel? Anyhow, a bunch of very kind folks have encouraged me and ... while it still makes me feel slightly nervous, I must admit that it already HAS helped me set aside more time than I normally could, in order to make personal art. The giant chicken in the ocean ("Thunderous Tides") that I posted most recently came about because of this! So I suppose I am warming up to it. I love making things that I want to make, and I love making things that people seem to enjoy!

Anyhow, if you are at all interested in this, here's the link: www.patreon.com/nambroth

Even if you hate the idea, or simply can't take part (goodness knows I understand!!) please know that I value you all very much regardless of Patreon. All of the favorites, comments, watches, and even just your eyeballs sliding across my work means SO very much to me! I truly would not be able to do what I do without the online community. Thank you so much!!
