"Red-Fronted Macaw" 8"x10" oil.
This lesser known macaw is an endangered species endemic to Bolivia, with between 1,000 - 4,000 left in the wild. It has declined steeply mostly due to loss of habitat (>40% of its habitat being converted to agriculture), with some being lost to the illegal pet trade. If I sell this piece, I will be donating a portion of the sale to the World Parrot Trust (www.parrots.org/).
My scanner really didn't know what to do with the saturated colors on this one!
The background isn't very good but the bird is simply amazing. If it wasn't for the bottom part of the bird I would have thought the feathers were from a photo.
beautiful traditional painting of a red fronted macaw.
AHH it looks like you took the bird and byt it there and painted the background and just took the picter.
IS so Great
IS so Great
I really enjoy the rough brushwork in the background, the contrast between the neutral brown and the green gives it a wonderful opal-like sheen and perfectly compliments the subject. Great work!
Background *.* So simply but so impressive!
Wow, gosh. The authentic textures on his beak are great! And even just the simple strokes in the background are fitting!
Your oil work is amazing.
This is stunningly beautiful! In addition to beauty, I love the cause and educational background!!
I can't believe this is traditional. This is amazing work. I really hope it sells.
